Dear reader,

The idea of heroism is linked to great public deeds and bravery that capture the world’s attention. However, from the perspective of Spiritist Doctrine, the true hero is the one who wages the most difficult of battles: the effort to tame their bad tendencies and transform themselves.

Far from applause, seeking to renounce pride, sincere forgiveness, patience in the face of trials, and doing for others what they need, they set aside vanity and, by improving themselves, build a better world.

To be a hero, for the immortal spirit, is to maintain unwavering faith when the storm rages and to choose the straight path, even when the shortcut seems easier.

It is in moments of pain, like those we are experiencing in our region, that, through anonymous work, the hero acts without expecting reward. Courageous, they transform inner shadows into renewing light that benefits everyone.

We invite you to reflect on the “heroes of moral resistance,” who, like Francis of Assisi, renounce themselves every day and build the Kingdom of God on Earth.

Without capes, but with hearts willing to love and serve.
